Libs Abroad Weekly Roundup Presented by Withings: 3/10

The Libs Abroad Weekly Roundup is back with another week of impressive performances to recap from around the world:

Han Xu led Sichuan Yuanda to their second consecutive WCBA Finals appearance and is competing in her third championship in as many years. To clinch the Semifinals sweep, Han provided a 19-point and 12-rebound double-double in a 98-66 victory.

Despite Sichuan dropping Game 1 of the Finals to Neimenggu, she finished with season bests of 24 points and 66.7% (4-6) shooting from three. Earlier today, Han helped even the best-of-three series with a 71-63 win behind 11 points and season-highs of 16 rebounds, four blocks, and three steals.

In her two KBSL appearances this week, Breanna Stewart led Fenerbahçe to a pair of wins, extending their record to 18-3 in the Turkish season.

On Monday, Stewie posted a well-balanced game of 14 points, nine boards, and five dimes in against Nesibe. Yesterday, she secured her fifth double-double of 2023 with an even 20 points and 10 rebounds against Galatasaray.

Sika Koné totaled a double-double of 19 points and 18 boards on 53.8% (7-13) from the field, helping Spar Gran Canaria defeat Barca CBS: 70-63. Sunday’s performance marked her 18th double-double and earned her the LF Endesa Week 24 MVP Award; her fourth honor of the season.

Highlights

Leonie Fiebich had another big game over the weekend finishing with 19 points, five boards, and four steals on a combined 53.3% (8-15), helping lift Zaragoza to a 71-59 victory against IDK Eustotren.

Marine Johannès led Lyon to a 90-74 win behind an efficient outing of 16 points, six dimes, and four rebounds where she netted 60% (6-10) from the field and 50% (4-8) from distance; her 11th contest of the season with four or more three-pointers made.

Highlights

Raquel Carrera matched her LF Endesa season-high with 17 points on a combined 87.5% (7-8) from the field alongside five rebounds, four steals, and a trio of assists in Valencia’s 92-63 victory.

Game Highlights

Courtney Vandersloot recorded 14 points, a season-best six steals, and four assists while converting on 83.3% (5-6) from the field in Fenerbahçe’s 110-56 convincing win over Kayseri.

In her final WNBL regular season game and Semifinal opener, Kayla Thornton tallied 14 points in both contests. Kayla also racked up seven rebounds and three blocks, helping Southside to an 84-76 victory and a 1-0 series lead over Melbourne.

Three-Pointer

Marine Fauthoux added seven points and dished six assists in Landes’ 76-59 victory against Roche, helping improve her club to the fifth seed in LFB.
