For the second consecutive week, Sami Whitcomb led all Libs Abroad scorers and tied her season high of 23 points on 47.3% (9-19) shooting from the field and 50.0% (5-10) from deep. Whitcomb also recorded six rebounds, five assists and three steals in Perth’s 84-72 win over Sydney on Wednesday.
Last Saturday, Sami added three points, four assists, and three boards against Canberra.
Marine Fauthoux and Landes lost their EuroCup Quarterfinal bout with Bourges yesterday, 74-55. Fauthoux registered a game-high 20 points on an efficient 47.1% (8-17) shooting from the field and 60.0% (3-5) from three. Marine’s all-around performance also included six rebounds and three assists.
Michaela Onyenwere recorded her fifth double-figure performance of the season this week, finishing with 11 points on 55.6% (5-9) from the field, three steals, and a pair of rebounds in Girona’s 87-72 victory over IDK Eustotren.
After defeating Zaragoza, 84-74, Bec Allen and Valencia Basket (20-4) have now won eight consecutive domestic contests. Allen totaled eight points, knocked down a pair of triples, grabbed three boards, and swiped three steals in 22 minutes.
Bec closed out the week with a 61-57 victory over Venezia in their first of two EuroCup Quarterfinal matchups. The Liberty’s longest-tenured player tallied five points, six rebounds, and three blocks in the 14-point comeback win.
Kylee Shook led the Adelaide Lightning (10-6) back into the win column on Thursday when she posted a near double-double of eight points and 11 boards in an 81-50 win against Canberra.
Shook recorded seven points and four rebounds across 24 minutes against Melbourne last Sunday.
Marine Johannès and Lyon fell to Mersin in their second of two EuroCup Quarterfinal matchups by a score of 82-68. Marine added eight points on 42.9% (3-7) shooting from the field across 26 minutes.
