Sami Whitcomb returned to action this past week with a pair of impactful performances for Perth. Last Saturday, Sami recorded 10 points on 40% (2-5) from three and seven assists.

Whitcomb continued her production on Wednesday, leading the Lynx to 97-83 victory over Canberra behind a game-defining 26-point, five-rebound, and five-assist outing.

Sika Koné recorded her ninth and tenth double-doubles of the LF Endesa season. Over the weekend, Sika tallied 21 points, 16 rebounds, and two assists on 58.3% (7-12) from the field.

On Thursday, Koné tied her season-best rebounding performance when she secured 21 total, eight of which were offensive, alongside 16 points where she shot 53.8% (7-13) on the night.

Han Xu  and Sichuan Yuanda extended their undefeated start to 11-0 in WCBA action, securing three more wins on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

The back-to-back WCBA MVP finished with 20+ points for the third time of the young season on Thursday with 21 points on 66.7% (8-12) from the field, seven boards, and three assists.

Han posted a well-balanced performance of 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists in a hard fought 80-77 win over reigning champion Inner Mongolia on Sunday, followed by eight points and four rebounds in 7:35 minutes of limited action in Sichuan’s 79-64 victory on Tuesday.

Natasha Howard showcased elite consistency in her two-game KBSL and EuroLeague split this past week, finishing with 19 points in each contest, both of which resulted in victories.

In Saturday’s offensive outburst that saw Fenerbahçe finish with a season-high 110 points against Hatay, Tash added 12 rebounds and four assists: her fourth double-double this season. On Wednesday, Howard shot 56.3% (9-16) from the field, grabbed seven boards, and swiped a season-high five steals in an 83-63 win over Bourges.

Highlights

Marine Fauthoux led Basket Landes to a 71-67 victory over Bourges, furthering their ascent in the standings after a slow start to their LFB title defense in 2022.

Marine was a difference-maker, providing a game-high 19 points on 58.3% (7-12) from the field, plus a pair of rebounds and steals. With her 19-point finish, Fauthoux now has an active streak of six contests in double figure scoring, dating back to November 19.

Raquel Carrera continued her strong play in the paint, extending her double-figure scoring streak to five games in Valencia’s perfect 2-and-0 week.

On Saturday, Raquel’s efficiency was on display when she tallied 11 points on 80.0% (4-5) from the floor in 20 minutes of a 98-65 rout of Tenerife. Carrera followed up her performance with similar efficiency in Thursday’s 65-59 EuroLeague victory, finishing with 15 points, six boards, and four steals on 66.7% (6-9) shooting.

Highlights

Marine Johannès maintained Lyon’s momentum this past weekend, extending their undefeated LFB start to 7-0 after defeating Hainaut in convincing fashion, 82-49.

In 24 minutes, Marine compiled a well-balanced performance of 13 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals while converting on 41.6% (5-12) from the field and netting three triples.

Alley-Oop Pass

Earlier today, Jocelyn Willoughby helped lift the Sydney Flames to an 87-72 victory against Canberra where she added 10 points on an efficient 83.0% (5-6) from the field, two assists, and two steals across 24 minutes.

Driving Layup

In her second and third games since returning from injury, Michaela Onyenwere posted seven points apiece in each contest.

Michaela shot a combined 50% (3-6) from the field in Avenida’s 67-54 win against Barça CBS, then grabbed a trio of rebounds on Thursday against Spar Girona: her former club.
