Jocelyn Willoughby tallied her first double-double of the WNBL season with 12 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes of action on Wednesday. Prior to the new year, Willoughby set a season-high in scoring with 25 points on a combined 66.7% (10-15) from the field and 50% (3-6) three with five boards.
Marine Johannès began 2024 with a strong performance, totaling 24 points and four assists on an efficient split of 61.5% (8-13) from the field and 55.6% (5-9) from deep in an 85-59 LFB win.
Prior to the break, Han Xu helped lead Sichuan Yuanda (24-2) to a trio of wins, highlighted by a 21-point, six-rebound outing where she converted on 53.7% (7-13) from the field in 26 minutes of play.
Raquel Carrera also started her 2024 campaign on a strong note, posting 18 points on 77.8% (7-9) shooting alongside five boards. Carrera and Valencia sit atop LF Endesa at 14-2 after a pair of wins to begin 2024.
This week, Leonie Fiebich powered Zaragoza past Lyon in EuroLeague behind a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds in a 63-60 victory. Fiebich added 11 points and five boards over the weekend in another LF Endesa win, extending their record to 13-3.
Marine Fauthoux added seven points and a pair of rebounds and assists on a perfect five-of-five from the free throw line in Lyon’s EuroLeague matchup.
