In the final match of a two-game set in Georgia, the New York Liberty (8-9) fell to the Atlanta Dream (6-9), 73-69. The Dream clinched the regular season series win over the Liberty (2-1).

New York finished with 35 rebounds and 24 points in the paint in a contest that saw 12 lead changes and 11 ties. The visiting team led by as many as four points in the fourth quarter, but after being tied at 69 all, a Courtney Williams-led Dream went on a 4-0 run late in the fourth quarter run to secure the victory.

New York finished on 40% (24-60) shooting from the field, 37.5% (9-24) from beyond the arc and 80% (12-15) at the free throw line.

Four Liberty players scored in double figures in tonight’s game (Laney, Odom, Onyenwere, Whitcomb).

Betnijah Laney led all Liberty scorers with 16 points on 36.8% (7-19) from the field, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds against her former team. Tonight, Betnijah scored in double figures for the 16th time through her first 17 games in Seafoam and is currently the only player in the league to average 19.0+ points and 5.0+ assists per game.

Rookie Michaela Onyenwere totaled 13 points on 44.4% (4-9) from the field, 50.0% (2-4) from three, and 75.0% (3-4) from the line; her third consecutive game in double figure scoring. Onyenwere has scored in double figures in eight of the team’s 17 games.

Coming off a 30-point and seven three-pointer career-best performance, Sami Whitcomb totaled 11 points on 60.0% (3-5) from distance and seven rebounds: her fifth consecutive games in double figures this season. At the 8:26 minute mark in the fourth quarter, Sami connected on her 200th-career three-pointer.

Neah Odom recorded a season-high 10 points on 50.0% (2-4) from the field, 100% (1-1) from deep, 100% from the line (5-5) and tied a season-high two rebounds.

Kylee Shook posted eight points on 60.0% (3-5) shooting from the field and 8 rebounds: her third consecutive game with 6+ points and 8+ boards.

Sabrina Ionescu
added six points and six rebounds. She has scored at least six points and grabbed six boards in four of her last five games.

Atlanta’s Courtney Williams led all scorers with 18 points on 47.1% (8-17) shooting, 33.3% (1-3) from three, five rebounds and a team-high four assists.

Crystal Bradford tallied a career-high 14 points on 50.0% (5-10) shooting from the field and 66.7% (4-6) from beyond the arc to go along with seven rebounds.
