Breanna Stewart Earns Third Eastern Conference Player of the Week Honor

NEW YORK – JULY 13, 2023 – The WNBA announced today that New York Liberty forward and AT&T 2023 WNBA All-Star Game captain, Breanna Stewart, has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played from Wednesday, July 5 to Wednesday, July 12.

In her three most recent contests, all of which were victories, Stewart averaged 28.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, and four assists per game while converting on a combined 48.1% (25-52) from the field, 56.3% (9-16) from three, and 93.1% (27-29) at the free throw line.

On July 5, en route to setting the Liberty franchise record for most 40-point games (2), Breanna finished with a game-high 43 points on 65% (13-20) shooting from the floor, including 75% (3-4) from three, 12 rebounds, and six assists. This marked the first 43-point, 12-rebound, six-assist game in WNBA history and Stewart’s second career 40-point game–both coming as a member of the Liberty. She is also the first player to record multiple 40-point games in a season since 2018.

This weekly honor is Stewart’s 13th of her career, her third as a member of the Eastern Conference, and the 51st all-time in Liberty history.
