On Tuesday, the New York Liberty (2-0) defeated the Indiana Fever (0-2), 102-66, in the second game of the 2024 regular season.

With tonight’s victory, New York is on a seven-game win streak against the Fever, the longest win streak against Indiana in Liberty franchise history.

New York finished with 29 second-chance points in tonight’s win after only scoring more than 20 second-chance points in one game last season. The Liberty’s 29 second-chance points is tied for the most of any WNBA team so far in 2024 and would have been a season-high for New York in 2023.

The reigning MVP finished with a double-double of 31 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks in the win, Two of Stewart’s record-setting four 40-point games came against the Fever last season as she averaged 29.0 points per game against Indiana in 2023, the highest of any Fever opponent in 2023 and the third-highest scoring average against the Fever in Indiana’s franchise history.

Betnijah Laney-Hamilton’s +43 plus-minus set a new franchise record and ranked as the fifth-highest plus-minus in the WNBA since at least 2012.

Jonquel Jones posted a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, including 3 offensive rebounds to move into the top-25 for career offensive rebounds in WNBA history.
