On Friday, the New York Liberty (18-6) fell to the Minnesota Lynx (12-13), 83-88, in the rescheduled opener of their 2023 three-game season series and the second game of a back-to-back set.

At Barclays Center, the Liberty finished on 36.1% (26-72) shooting from the field, 28.6% (10-35) from three, and 84% (21-25) at the free throw line.

New York finished with three double-digit scorers in tonight’s game (Stewart, Ionescu, Laney).

Highlighted by 18 first-half points, 13 of which came in the second, Sabrina Ionescu finished with a game-high 31 points on 47.6% (10-21) shooting from the field, including 50% (7-14) from three, a game-high seven assists, and seven rebounds. This marks the second time in as many months that Ionescu and Breanna Stewart have gone for 30-plus points in back-to-back games, having done so during games played on June 9 and June 11.

Breanna Stewart totaled 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Betnijah Laney added 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

For Minnesota, Kayla McBride finished with 26 points, five rebounds, and four assists, while Diamond Miller added 22 points and five rebounds.
