Liberty Drop Final Game of Road Trip to Storm, 92-61


On Sunday, the New York Liberty (1-7) fell to the Seattle Storm (5-3), 92-61, in the second game of their 2022 three-game season series.

At Climate Pledge Arena, the Liberty finished on 33.8% (22-65) shooting from the field, 25.9% (7-27) from three, and 90% (10-11) at the free throw line.

Q1: Seattle went on a 17-3 run from the 7:04 mark to the 2:57 mark of the first quarter.

The Storm went on a 16-0 run from the 8:35 mark to the 4:26 mark of the second. They ended the period on a 26-6 run, overall.

Liberty went on a 10-2 run from the 7:48 mark of the third to the 4:34 mark of the period.

Seattle opened the fourth on an 14-0 run to from the opening of the quarter to the 7:42 mark.


Two Liberty players scored in double figures in tonight’s game (Han, Howard).

Han Xu scored seven-straight points for the Liberty in the opening period en route to a nine-point half and a career-high in scoring, overall. She finished with a career-high 13 points, eight rebounds, a steal, and a block.

Natasha Howard dropped 10 points on 57.1% (4-7), including an efficient 50% (1-2) from behind the three-point arc. She also added four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

For Seattle, Jewell Loyd finished with a game-high 22 points and a game-high six assists.
