Weatherspoon, Hampton and WNBA March in 2018 NYC Pride Parade
New York, NY – June 24, 2018 – New York Liberty Director of Player & Franchise Development, Teresa Weatherspoon, fellow Liberty legend, Kym Hampton, and representatives of the WNBA once again marched in the New York City Pride Parade this past Sunday. The duo celebrated alongside others from the NBA, including New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale and forward Michael Beasley, and members of the NBA G League and NBA 2K League.

At last year’s festivities, the Liberty became the first professional sports franchise to have a float in the parade as the squad joined the likes of Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo. A two-game West Coast trip fell on the team’s horizon this time around though the team’s #ShowUp mantra was still heavily felt.

Hampton added. “Love is love and it is about showing up for everything and everyone. It’s about saying that we are all human beings and no one should discriminate against anyone for anything.”
