"The Liberty Portraits" Touch Down At Barclays Center
Barclays Center just got a major glow-up, and it’s all love for your 2024 WNBA champs.
A brand-new public art installation titled “The Liberty Portraits: A Monument to the 2024 Champions” is now live on the plaza outside Barclays Center. Created by legendary artist and lifelong Liberty fan LaToya Ruby Frazier, this powerful series shines a big, beautiful spotlight on the women who brought the chip home to NYC.
Each Liberty player from the 2024 squad is featured on a 9-foot-tall double-sided portrait—one side in uniform, the other side with the family they chose to stand beside them. We’re talking Bahamas, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama—Frazier pulled up wherever the players’ hearts were.
It’s giving strength, legacy, and straight-up sisterhood. And the whole vibe nods to the Statue of Liberty. Standing tall, proud, and bold in NYC.
You can catch The Liberty Portraits all WNBA season long outside the arena. And word is, this is just the start. Governor Clara Wu Tsai and the BSE Global squad are building a full public art program, with more installations, more artists, and more Brooklyn energy on the way.
Let’s be real: it’s only right that the champs get their flowers. This time, they come nine feet tall.
