From watch parties, camps, and a dribble parade– we’ve been going up all summer long, making SummerPalooza one for the books!

We tipped off the Olympic break with our SummerPalooza activations around New York and we’ve had so much fun with our Libs Fam community.  Starting things off right, we partnered with Ticketmaster to host our first-ever week-long Liberty Summer Camp for the youth!  On the final day, campers participated in an outdoor basketball tournament hosted at Ticketmaster Plaza on a Ticketmaster sponsored snap court.

What’s a NYC summer without hitting Coney Island? It’s only right we collaborated with Brooklyn Magazine to host a paint and chill followed by a showing of a cinematic classic, Love and Basketball at Coney Island Beach.

But the fun didn’t stop there!

To say we were outside last Saturday would be an understatement! 3000+ Liberty fans showed up for our inaugural Brooklyn Dribble geared up with their t-shirts and BK Dribble basketballs. Ball handling skills were put to the test as Liberty fans of all ages showed their skills as they made their way along the one-mile course from Pier 2 to Pier 6 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Host Jess Sims led the way as she excitedly amped up the crowd for a fun-filled day of events!

DJ Ty Michelle provided the day’s soundtrack as fans were delighted with pop-up appearances from the legendary hip hop queen, MC Lyte, Councilmember Crystal Hudson, and New York Liberty forwards Kayla Thornton and Kennedy Burke. From autograph signings to photographs to the electric slide alongside our Timeless Torches, your favorite Libs duo showed the fans so much love.

Corporate and community partners also spread the love.

A huge thank you to Shape Up NYC for hitting the stage and getting us moving to keep our blood flow going post-parade. The NYX Cosmetics photobooth kept us cute. Gatorade kept us hydrated, and Sloomoo Institute kept the youth entertained with endless slime toys. Not to mention, there was also an Ellie-inspired braid station and face painting station, offering a little something for everyone.

Shoutout to our other partners like Anthem, Hero, Withings, Snipes, Fanmire, Ambulnz, Gatorade, PWHL New York, and Brooklyn Basketball for helping bring this event to life and providing our community with a memorable summer experience they won’t forget!
