Sky Defeat Liberty in Game 3 Despite Second Half Run, 90-72


On Tuesday, the New York Liberty (1-2) fell to the Chicago Sky (2-1), 90-72, in the final game of their 2022 WNBA Playoffs First Round series.

In the first-ever Liberty playoff game at Barclays Center, New York finished on 43.5% (30-69) shooting from the field, 31.8% (7-22) from three, and 83.3% (5-6) at the free throw line.


Q1: Chicago went on a 13-4 run from the 5:12 mark of the first to the 1:10 mark of the quarter.

Q2: Chicago went on a 12-4 run from the 7:17 mark of the second to the 5:12 mark of the quarter.

Q3: New York went on a 11-1 run from the 0:32 mark of the third quarter to the 9:02 mark of the fourth quarter.

Q4: Chicago went on an 20-3 run from the 8:48 mark of the fourth to the 1:30 mark of the quarter.


Three Liberty players scored in double figures in tonight’s game (Laney, Howard, Ionescu).

Betnijah Laney totaled 15 points on 54.5% (6-11) shooting from the floor, five rebounds, and two assists.

Natasha Howard finished with 14 points on 41.2% (7-17) shooting from the field and a team-high 11 rebounds.

Sabrina Ionescu finished with 14 points on 40% (6-15) shooting from the field, six rebounds, and four assists.

For Chicago, Courtney Vandersloot finished with 14 points and a game-high 10 assists, while Candace Parker finished with 14 points, a game-high 13 rebounds, and eight assists.
