Sabrina Ionescu picks up her ninth career Player of the Week honor

Sabrina Ionescu is in her bag! But what’s new?

The WNBA named her Eastern Conference Player of the Week last week, and that makes nine career weekly honors for Sab, the second-most in Liberty history.

From July 3 to July 13, Sab was doing what Sab does while putting on for New York. In that four-game stretch, the Libs went 3-1 and closed it out on a two-game heater. Sab averaged:

✅ 19.8 points
✅ 6.3 boards
✅ 6.3 dimes
✅ 1.8 steals

She was top three in the East in both scoring and assists, and she led the team in points twice dropping 28 on the Aces and 22 on Seattle.

She also led all guards in the East with 25 rebounds over the stretch. And get this: she was a problem in transition too, leading the East in points off turnovers (4.5 per game), including 12 against Vegas.

This makes the Libs the first team this season to have two different Player of the Week winners (shoutout to TCloud for kicking us off in Week 1). And for the franchise? This is weekly award #62.
