On Friday, the New York Liberty (15-5) defeated the Washington Mystics (11-10), 96-87, in the third game of their 2023 four-game season series.
At Entertainment & Sports Arena, the Liberty finished on 47.3% (35-74) shooting from the field, 35.5% (11-31) from three, and 88.2% (15-17) at the free throw line.
Tonight marked the first time in Liberty franchise history that three players recorded a double-double in the same contest and just the second time that three players finished with 10+ rebounds in the same contest (6/11/16 vs. San Antonio Stars).
New York also pulled down a season-high 48 rebounds in tonight’s win.

New York finished with five double-digit scorers in tonight’s game (Jones, Stewart, Ionescu, Vandersloot, Laney), marking the first time this season that the Liberty’s starting five each record 10+ points in the same game.
Highlighted by a season-high 19-point first half on 80% (8-10) shooting, Jonquel Jones finished with a season-high 27 points on 71.4% (10-14) shooting from the field, including 40% (2-5) from three, a season-high-tying 11 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks. Tonight’s performance marks her third double-double of the season and just the tenth time in franchise history that a player made eight-plus field goals while shooting 80% or better in a single half.
Breanna Stewart totaled 24 points on 52.9% (9-17) shooting from the floor, including 60% (3-5) from deep, and 10 rebounds, marking her 11th double-double of the season.
In a near-triple-double performance, Sabrina Ionescu finished with 16 points on 40% (4-10) shooting from the field, including 37.5% (3-8) from three, a season-high 11 rebounds, and a season-high-tying nine assists, marking her first double-double of the season.
Courtney Vandersloot finished with 12 points, including 50% (2-4) shooting from beyond the three-point arc, four rebounds, and three assists.
Betnijah Laney added 10 points on 55.6% (5-9) shooting from the floor, three rebounds, and three assists.
Marine Johannès tallied a career-high six rebounds, five points, and a pair of assists.
