On Tuesday, the New York Liberty (20-6) defeated the Los Angeles Sparks (9-17), 76-69, in the second game of their 2023 three-game season series, sweeping their two-game set in Los Angeles.

At Crypto.com Arena, the Liberty finished on 42.4% (28-66) shooting from the field, 24.2% (8-33) from three, and 80% (12-15) at the free throw line.

With tonight’s victory, the Liberty secured their first 20-win season since 2017.

Further, Sandy Brondello became the ninth head coach in WNBA history to reach 200 career wins.

New York finished with three double-digit scorers in tonight’s game (Vandersloot, Stewart, Ionescu).

Highlighted by a 20-point, five-assist second half, Courtney Vandersloot finished with a game-high 23 points on 64.3% (9-14) shooting from the floor, including 80% (4-5) from three, seven rebounds, and six assists. Her 23 points marked a season-high in scoring.

Breanna Stewart totaled 16 points, a game-high 12 rebounds, four assists, four steals, and three blocks, notching her 13^th double-double of the season.

Sabrina Ionescu added 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Jonquel Jones and Betnijah Laney both finished with nine points apiece.

For Los Angeles, Nneka Ogwumike finished with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Jordin Canada totaled 13 points and six assists.
