New York Liberty Acquire Rebekah Gardner From Chicago Sky

NEW YORK (March 14, 2024) – The New York Liberty has acquired the player rights to guard Rebekah Gardner from the Chicago Sky in exchange for the Liberty’s own 2025 and 2026 Second Round draft picks.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Rebekah to New York and support her recovery process,” said Liberty General Manager Jonathan Kolb. “She has shown tremendous perseverance throughout her career, and in tandem with our talented performance staff, we are confident she will be positioned to have the best opportunity at a full recovery as we target the 2025 season for her return.”

Rebekah Gardner (33), a 6-1 guard from Upland, Calif. and UCLA, joins New York after 38 career regular season games with the Chicago Sky between 2022 and 2023 with averages of 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 assists per contest with an efficient shooting split of 53.5% from the field, 38.3% from three, and 81.8% at the free throw line. Gardner also made eight postseason appearances in 2022, averaging five points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.
