Incoming third-year center, Han Xu, has had a notable February 2023 campaign on multiple fronts. First, Han was named to the WCBA All-Star game to open the month where she represented Sichuan Yuanda.
Upon returning to regular season action, the 6-10 center hit the ground running and powered Sichuan to seven consecutive wins throughout the month: further improving their combined record to 18-0. Over the seven-contest stretch, Han averaged 17.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game while converting on 60.5% (52-86) from the field.
In between putting together what could be her third consecutive WCBA MVP campaign, Han re-signed with the New York Liberty on February 17 upon accepting the team’s qualifying offer.
To close the month, she secured a 24-point, 15-rebound double-double in Sichuan’s 86-53 Quarterfinal series clinching win over Wuhan. Currently, Han has a 1-0 lead over Shanghai in the Semifinals, where she’ll look to punch her ticket to the WCBA Finals with another win.
This impactful series of performances has earned Han the Libs Abroad Presented by Withings February Player of the Month—her second career monthly honor (December 2020).
