On Friday, the New York Liberty (2-1) fell to the Las Vegas Aces (1-2) by a score of 81-95 in Game 3 of the 2024 WNBA Semifinals.

New York’s reserves scored 11 points in the first quarter, which was the highest-scoring opening quarter from the Liberty bench so far this season.

The Liberty recorded at least 15 assists for the 128th consecutive game, including both regular season and postseason games, which is the longest such streak in WNBA history by more than 50 games.

New York also recorded at least 15 assists for the 27th consecutive playoff game, which is the longest such streak in postseason history.

PLAYER NOTABLES

Breanna Stewart led the Liberty offense with 19 points on 50% (2-4) shooting from deep while adding six rebounds against Las Vegas. Stewart became the fastest player in Liberty franchise history to reach 100 field goals made (15 games). This marked Breanna’s 37th consecutive playoff game with at least 10 points, which is the longest such streak in WNBA postseason history.

Jonquel Jones recorded 11 points and six rebounds on 50% (4-8) shooting from the field. The 2024 All-Defensive Second Team selection became the Liberty’s all-time leader in postseason blocks (27), and Jonquel also passed Erlana Larkins (135) for the fourth-most offensive rebounds in WNBA postseason history.

Leonie Fiebich scored 10 points on 50% (4-8) shooting from the field while adding four rebounds and two assists. Fiebich set a WNBA postseason rookie record by recording her fifth consecutive game with multiple three-pointers, and she also tied Briann January for the fourth-most three-pointers made by a rookie in WNBA postseason history (12).

Courtney Vandersloot came off the bench to score nine points with five assists, three rebounds, and a block. Vandersloot made 100% (4-4) of her shots from the free throw line against the Aces.

Sabrina Ionescu became the second-fastest player in Liberty postseason history to reach 100 assists in the playoffs (19 games). Ionescu also recorded at least five rebounds and five assists for the eighth time in her postseason career to tie Cappie Pondexter for the second-most such games in a player’s first five seasons in WNBA history.

Marquesha Davis scored the first postseason points of her career with a three-pointer. Davis, playing in her first career postseason game, added two rebounds and two assists.
