Jocelyn Willoughby Injury Update

NEW YORK – May 5, 2021 – New York Liberty guard/forward Jocelyn Willoughby suffered a tear of her left Achilles’ tendon during the team’s scrimmage on May 3 at Connecticut. Willoughby underwent a successful surgical repair today at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS).

The procedure was performed by Dr. Martin O’Malley and Dr. Anne Holly Johnson, the Liberty’s foot and ankle specialists. While Jocelyn is expected to make a full recovery, she will not play during the 2021 season.

In 2020, her rookie year, Willoughby averaged 5.8 points and 2.4 rebounds while shooting a team-best 40.5% from beyond the arc over 22 contests, five of which she started.
