Coming 2027: The Liberty’s First-Ever Practice Facility
The New York Liberty have announced plans to build a state-of-the-art, 75,000 sq. ft. practice facility in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, overlooking Manhattan’s skyline. Scheduled to open in 2027, the $80 million project marks a major milestone — establishing the team’s first dedicated training center in franchise history.
The Liberty’s new facility will feature two full-size courts with integrated video review technology, a two-story indoor/outdoor strength training room, a full recovery suite with hydrotherapy, infrared and red-light therapy, steam, sauna, and massage rooms. Additional amenities include private player suites surrounding a central lounge area, a rooftop dining space with in-house chefs, outdoor courts for community engagement, and a cardio balcony overlooking the courts.
The space is being designed in collaboration with Populous, with a focus on optimizing performance and supporting the holistic needs of professional athletes. The facility will also include a podcast and broadcast studio, three floors of front office space, family-friendly lounges, a nail/hair/makeup studio, and a fan-facing retail and hospitality area.
The Liberty’s ownership group will fully fund construction, furthering their investment in the team, the borough of Brooklyn, and the advancement of women’s sports. The new facility will integrate elements of the existing four-story former lightbulb factory to honor Brooklyn’s industrial legacy, while a newly constructed 40,000 sq. ft. addition will house most of the player-focused amenities.
This facility is more than just a home base — it’s a long-term commitment to excellence, impact, and the future of the Liberty.
