Big Meess is in the Building!
Another dawg added to the roster after signing Belgium Center, Emma Meesseman
The Liberty made history a few weeks ago with a mid-season signing bringing Belgian superstar and former Finals MVP Emma Meesseman back to the WNBA for the first time since 2022.
At 6’4” with championship hardware on every level, Emma brought skill, smarts, and a game that makes everyone around her better. She arrived fresh off leading Belgium to a 2025 FIBA EuroBasket title, snagging her second straight MVP in the process. From 2022–2025, she dominated the EuroLeague — 3x MVP, six titles overall, and a shooting percentage that stayed in the high 50s like it was nothing.
Fans will remember her 2019 run with the Washington Mystics, when she won a WNBA championship and took home Finals MVP honors averaging 17.8 points on 57% shooting in the series. In New York, she reunited with her 2019 teammate Natasha Cloud.
Emma joined a stacked, international Liberty roster featuring seven Olympians from across the globe, all under the leadership of Coach Sandy Brondello.
Brooklyn welcomed her the only way we know how: loud, proud, and ready for more.
