Overseas Update

This week in France, Leilani Mitchell and Arras went 1-1. In the French League, Arras traveled to play former Liberty Sidney Spencer and Villeneuve. They lost in a close battle, 73-75. Leilani had 7 points and 2 assists in the loss. In EuroCup play, Arras defeated Basket Lande at home, 55-45 to secure their spot in the next round of EuruCup play. Leilani added 4 points and 5 assists in the win.

In Hungary,Quanitra Hollingsworth and Uni Seat Gyor went 2-0. In Hungarian League play, the second ranked team defeated Nanette (5th) 75-58. Quanitra led all scorers with 20 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Uni Seat Gyor also got a win in Euroleague this week, defeating Vici-Aistes, 90-70. Quanitra contributed 13 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.

In Poland, Nicole Powell and Wisla Can-Pack stayed atop the Polish league with a win against Energa Torun, 79-73. Nicole had 18 points and 8 rebounds. The team didnt fare as well in Euroleague play, falling to Kia Vaughn and Taranto of Italy, 81-69. Nicole tallied 17 points and 8 rebounds in the defeat.

In Italy, ,Kia Vaughn and Taranto had a strong week going 2-0. First ranked Taranto defeated 2nd ranked Familia Schio (Janel McCarville), 65-52. Kia scored 10 points and added 8 rebounds in the important win. In their Euroleague win against Nicole Powell and Wisla Can-Pack, Kia dominated and led all scorers with 20 points while bringin in 11 rebounds.

In Spain, Essence Carson and Rivas Ecopolis went 2-0 this week. Essence had 21 points and 8 rebounds as the team defeated Burgos, 88-70. They then went on to play Brno Frisco. Rivas got the Euroleague win and Essence had a big game with 25 points and 5 rebounds in the 81-52 win.

In France, Alex Montgomery and Tarbes split games this week. In French league play the team defeated Union Hainaut, 66-57. Alex had 5 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The team then hosted Fenerbahce of Turkey. Alexs 17 points and 7 rebounds werent enough and the team fell, 80-60.

In Israel, Plenette Pierson and Maccabi Ashdod won twice this week. They first defeated Bnot Hasharon, 87-49. Plenette had 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in the victory. They then went on to beat H.R. Le-Zion, 84-68. Plenette had 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists.

In Poland, Sydney Colson and Lider Pruszkow fell to CCC Polkowice, 61-83. Sydney scored 11 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and dished out 4 assists in the loss.

In Turkey, Kara Braxton and Optimum TED lost a close one to Fenerbahce in Turkish League play, 86-79. Kara had 17 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.
