Libs Abroad Weekly Roundup Presented by Withings: 3/24

Another week down, another week closer to your New York Liberty tipping off the 2023 WNBA season on May 19! In the meantime, let’s get you caught up on our recent Libs Abroad action:

Breanna Stewart advanced Fenerbahçe to the EuroLeague Semifinals behind a game-leading performance of 25 points where she converted on 52.9% (9-17) from the field and 57.1% (4-7) from three.

Highlights

Sika Koné tallied 22 points and 16 rebounds while knocking down 54.5% (6-11) from the field and 90.9% (10-11) at the free throw line; her 20th double-double of the season. Sika also earned her third consecutive LF Endesa Weekly MVP Award and sixth this season.

Highlights

Raquel Carrera led Valencia in Game 3 of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals against Schio, providing a game-high 17 points and team-best six rebounds.

Raquel also paced the offense in Game 2, finishing with a game-high 21 points and 11 rebounds on 80% (8-10) from the field to force Game 3.

Highlights

Courtney Vandersloot recorded a season-high double-double of 19 points and 12 assists on an efficient 72.7% (8-11) from the field in Fenerbahçe’s 90-72 win against Beskitas. In her two other appearances this week, Courtney added nine and eight points; both of which were also victories.

Transition Layup | Three-Pointer

Marine Johannès shined in Lyon’s victory over Villeneuve in the EuroCup Semifinals, netting 17 points, three assists, and three boards on 42.8% (3-7) from deep.

With the 71-69 win, Lyon advanced to its first-ever EuroCup Finals where they’ll match up against Epiphanny Prince and Galatasaray on April 5 and 12.

Marine Fauthoux had another strong offensive showing weekend, totaling 17 points, four boards, and three assists in 34 minutes.


Epiphanny Prince added 12 points and a trio of boards yesterday, helping Galatasaray secure an aggregate 134-118 EuroCup Semifinal victory between the two contests against Venezia.

Earlier in the week, Epiphanny finished with nine points and six dimes in a 90-68 victory over Emlak in Turkey.

Kayla Thornton and Southside’s strong season came to an end on Wednesday in the WNBL Grand Finals. In Game 2, Kayla added a near double-double of 10 points and eight rebounds across 37 minutes.
