Libs Abroad Weekly Roundup Presented by Withings: 11/11

The Libs Abroad Weekly Roundup is back with no shortage of impressive performances from Liberty players competing overseas. Between a stellar season debut from Sami Whitcomb, multiple 20-point games and double-doubles from Natasha Howard, more no-look dimes from Marine Johannès, and a pair of dominant performances from Sika Koné, there’s plenty to recap since the latest roundup. Let’s get into it!

Sami Whitcomb tipped off her fifth campaign with the Perth Lynx last Wednesday and wasted no time to showcase that she’s one of the most prolific shooters in the game. Sami finished with a team-high 30 points and 7 rebounds on 50.0% (11-22) shooting from the field, 54.5% (6-11) from three, and a perfect two-for-two from the free throw line.

In the following contest, Whitcomb added four points, five boards and two steals.

Fresh off her second career Libs Abroad Presented by Withings Player of the Month nod, Natasha Howard kept her foot on the gas pedal entering November.

Tash opened the month with her top performance of the overseas season thus far, leading Fenerbahçe’s offense with a 28-point, 10-rebound double-double on 61.1% (11-18) from the field and 100% (5-5) from the charity stripe across 40 minutes.

Howard followed up her dominant showing with another double-double, racking up 19 points, 11 boards and a trio of steals on 53.8% (7-13) shooting.

On Wednesday, the 6-2 power forward once again exceeded 20 points in EuroLeague action, finishing with a team-best 23 points and pulling down seven rebounds while shooting at an efficient 64.7% (11-17) clip.

Sika Koné posted another pair of standout performances over the past two weeks.

On October 30, Sika amassed a near double-double of 19 points and eight boards on 58.3% (7-12) shooting from the field and 100% (1-1) from distance; her top scoring performance of the season.

Koné secured a double-double in her next game, a feat she has now recorded in four of six outings, when she totaled 18 points and 12 rebounds – five by way of the offensive glass.

Marine Johannès led Lyon to a 2-1 record between French League (LFB) and EuroCup play over the past two weeks, highlighted by her 18-point three-point shooting showcase where all her points rained in from distance at 46.2% (6-13), complimented by four dimes.

In typical MJ fashion, she recently replicated the viral no-look pass to Natasha Howard in Game 1 of the WNBA Playoffs. Check it out here!
