Libs Abroad Weekly Roundup Presented by Withings: 10/28

The French guard duo of Marine Johannès and Marine Fauthoux entered the Libs Abroad rotation this week, beginning their EuroCup and EuroLeague seasons, respectively. Natasha Howard and Raquel Carrera also began their EuroLeague slates, while Sika Koné continued her LF Endesa season; a week that saw all players post double figure scoring performances.

Sika Koné now holds a three-game double-double streak after another impressive performance last Saturday.

Sika recorded 18 points on 56.2% (9-16) shooting from the field and 12 rebounds in Gran Canaria’s 82-67 victory over Araski; evening her club’s LF Endesa record at 2-2.

Koné will aim to extend her double-double streak and secure another win tomorrow against IDK Eustotren.

In her first game back since missing the FIBA World Cup due to a thigh contusion, Marine Johannès wasted no time to showcase her range and dynamic playmaking ability in Lyon’s EuroCup opener.

Marine powered her club to a 76-64 home win over IDK Eustotren after recording a dominant performance of 18 points, six rebounds and four assists on 50.0% shooting from the field (7-14) and three-point range (4-8).

Johannès and Lyon will tip off their LFB schedule this upcoming Sunday against Villeneuve, which will be livestreamed here at 10:15 a.m. ET.

Highlights:  Step Back Three | Driving Floater | One-Legged Buzzer Beater Three | Deep Three | Transition Three

Despite a rare Fenerbahçe loss to open EuroLeague play, Natasha Howard continued her steady production against Polkowice tallying 15 points on 50.0% (2-4) from three and a pair of rebounds and assists in 32 minutes.

Natasha will look to lead her club back to the win column tomorrow in KBSL play against Emlak.

Three-Point Highlights

Marine Fauthoux tipped off her season last Friday in an exhibition match against Bourges in the LFB’s “Match of Champions,” a rematch of last year’s Final. While Bourges came away victorious, Marine had a solid performance of 13 points and six assists on a combined 44.4% (4-9) from the field.

Fauthoux then began her EuroLeague slate with Landes on Wednesday, where she finished with eight points and seven assists. Tomorrow, she’ll prepare for her club’s regular season LFB opener when the reigning champions take on Toulouse at home.
