Tash’s Big Start in Russia
Natasha Howard carried her momentum from the end of the WNBA season right into overseas play, jumping out to a 3-0 start with Dynamo Kursk.
Through the first three games, Howard has averaged 18.0 points and 8.6 rebounds, highlighted by a 22-point, 11 rebound double-double against Arka Gdynia in EuroLeague play.
Additionally, in the final ticks of the EuroLeague game against Galatasaray, Howard stole the ball at the top of the wing and converted on a game-winning breakaway layup– propelling Dynamo K. to a 78-76 win.
Kursk, now 5-0 overall (3-0 PBL, 2-0 EuroLeague), will look to stay undefeated through another busy week featuring three games on October 17, 20, and 24.
Gray-Gray, Double-Double
Reshanda Gray burst onto the scene in Italy’s Serie A1, posting a Liberty-best double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds for Magnolia Campobasso on October 10.
Gray also shot 50.0% (2-4) from beyond the arc in the 98-93 win over Costa Masnaga. They’ll now look ahead to improve their overall record to 3-0 when they take on Bologna on October 17.
Marine F. Upsets Fenerbache in EuroLeague
Marine Fauthoux helped Basket Landes complete a 70-65 upset win over EuroLeague powerhouse Fenerbache. Fauthoux finished the contest with a season-high 14 points on 66.7% (2-3) from deep.
Marine also posted consecutive games of seven points to open the LFB schedule, both of which were victories. The 20-year-old lead guard will matchup against Natasha Howard this week in EuroLeague play on October 20.
Bec’s 2021 Valencia Debut
Bec Allen lifted Valencia to a 67-59 EuroCup win in her first game back overseas on October 14. Allen recorded 12 points and a team-high six rebounds, including 10 points in the fourth quarter which regained the lead and closed out the club’s comeback victory.
Bec and Valencia will look ahead to their upcoming three-game slate, including two games in Spain today (October 16) and October 22, alongside the team’s second EuroCup match on October 20.
JoJo’s Three-Ball
Marine Johannès, who returned to her former club of LDCL ASVEL Féminin, has been off to a hot start beyond the arc across LFB and EuroCup play. JoJo has converted on 54.5% (6-11) of three-point field goals through her first three games, highlighted by a 13-point, three rebound, and three assist performance on October 13.
Marine will look to lead Lyon into the win column as they prepare for a two-game, domestic and international split this upcoming week on October 17 and 20.
