New York Liberty stars have already begun overseas competition, with for players into league play this fall. By the time the end of November rolls around, a total of 10 players from the 2016 squad will have reported to an international club. Recently announced, both Shavonte Zellous and Kiah Stokes will be heading to the competitive Turkish League, where they will be teammates for Besiktas.
For Zellous, who has competed in Turkey during every one of her professional seasons, she returns to Besiktas for a second time, while Stokes is heading to Turkey for the first time, after playing in South Korea last winter. Additionally, Tina Charles will be going back to China, where she will begin playing in November.
This week’s marquee matchup came when a pair of Liberty players, Epiphanny Prince and Amanda Zahui B, matched up in the Russian Premier League, with Prince’s Dynamo Kursk squad holding on for a 69-65 win.
Later this week the Turkish league will get underway, as Tanisha Wright, Sugar Rodgers, and Zellous figure to see their first action of the season.

Good Angels improved to 3-1 in the Slovakian League thanks to a 97-64 win over MBK Ruzomb. Rebecca Allen came off the bench in the win, but had an impressive 17 minutes of action, during which she scored 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, also coming away with 3 steals to help her team grab a win. So far early in the season Allen is making big contributions for her new squad, averaging 12.5 ppg, with 2.3 blocks and 1.8 steals per contest.

Carolyn Swords played her second league game for Basket 90 Gdynia and was dominant, but unable to lead her team to a win as they fell to Artego 71-59. Swords posted a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 18 rebounds, six on the offensive end, while shooting 7-of-13 from the field. Through two games she is averaging 12.5 points and 15.5 rebounds per game.

Zahui B continued her strong play in that matchup, efficiently scoring 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field with 4 rebounds. Earlier in the week, Orenburg, edged MBA 61-60, thanks in large part to a strong effort from Zahui B, where she scored 24 points in just 26 minutes of action, shooting 8-of-12 from the field with a 3-pointer. She is currently leading Orenburg in scoring (16.7 ppg) and rebounding (6.0 rpg).
