The Liberty (2-15) were outlasted by the Dream (5-13) 62-56 on Thursday evening, losing a defensive showdown that saw 9 lead changes.

Back-to-back threes awakened a 6-2 Liberty run to begin the game. New York extended its lead to 14-6 before an Atlanta timeout with 5:34 remaining thanks to 50% (5-10) shooting from beyond the arc and 60% (3-5) shooting from the field.
A 10-4 Dream run to end the first quarter cut the Liberty’s lead to only three going into the second quarter. Atlanta shot 100% (6-6) from the charity stripe in the first quarter.
Atlanta outscored New York 13-8 in the second quarter and went into the locker room up 31-29. The Liberty’s 8 points in the second quarter is a 2020 season-low.
Atlanta went up by as many as 6 points in the third quarter. New York cut the deficit to only three. The Dream outscored New York 17-16 in the third and ended the quarter up 48-45.
The Dream outscored the Liberty 14-11 in the final frame of action to solidify the victory.
