Liberty Bench Powers Comeback Win Over Wings For a Total of 50 Points, 91-73

TEAM NOTABLES

On Wednesday, the New York Liberty (14-20) defeated the Dallas Wings (17-17), 91-73, in the final game of their 2022 three-game season series.

At College Park Center, the Liberty finished on 54.8% (34-62) shooting from the field, 48.1% (13-27) from three, and 90.9% (10-11) at the free throw line.

The Liberty received a season-high 50 points from their bench in tonight’s victory.

Up Next: The New York Liberty will continue their playoff push by heading to the Peach State to take on the Atlanta Dream in the first game of a two-game, away-and-home set on Friday, August 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Four Liberty players scored in double figures in tonight’s game (Whitcomb, Ionescu, Johannès, Laney).

Sami Whitcomb finished with a team-high 15 points off of the bench on 62.5% (5-8) shooting from the field, including 57.1% (4-7) from three-point range, five assists, and four rebounds.

After a scoreless first half, Sabrina Ionescu scored 11 points in the third quarter en route to finishing with 13 points on 50% (6-12) shooting from the floor, a team-high nine rebounds, and a team-high seven assists.

Marine Johannès finished with 13 points on 71.4% (5-7) shooting from the field, including 75% (3-4) from deep, and two assists – her second consecutive game of double-digit scoring.

In her third game back from injury, Betnijah Laney finished with 11 points on 60% (3-5) shooting from the floor, including a perfect 100% (1-1) from deep and 100% (4-4) from the charity stripe. She also added two rebounds, two assists, and a steal on the night.

For Dallas, Marina Mabrey finished with a game-high 19 points and a team-high six assists, while Teaira McCowan totaled 17 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
