On Tuesday, the New York Liberty (12-18) defeated the Los Angeles Sparks (12-18), 102-73, in the second game of their 2022 three-game season series.
At Barclays Center, the Liberty finished on 57.8% (37-64) shooting from the field, 42.3% (11-26) from three, and 89.5% (17-19) at the free throw line.
With their 29-point margin of victory, New York not only set a new season high for the second consecutive game, but also eclipsed the previous franchise high for margin of victory against the Los Angeles Sparks.
New York’s 102 points tied for the fifth most points in a single game in franchise history.

Highlighted by her 20-point first half and 11-point third quarter, Sabrina Ionescu finished with a game-high 31 points on 68.8% (11-16) shooting from the field, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals – her fourth game this season of 30-plus points
With her 24-point, 11-rebound performance on 90% (9-10) shooting from the floor, Natasha Howard became the third player this season to record a double-double in five consecutive games, joining A’ja Wilson and Alyssa Thomas, and tied Tina Charles’ 2016 franchise record for consecutive games with a double-double. With her three-pointer at the 0:35.9 mark of the second quarter, Howard recorded her 100th career three-point field goal.
Han Xu finished with 13 points on 41.7% (5-12) shooting from the field, including 50% (1-2) from deep, a career-high eight assists, and seven rebounds – her 13th double-digit scoring game of the season. She has made at least one three-pointer in six of the team’s last seven games.
Marine Johannès totaled 12 points on 40% (4-10) shooting from the floor, four steals, and three rebounds – her 10th double-digit scoring game in 17 outings.
For Los Angeles, Brittney Sykes finished with a team-high 19 points and six rebounds.
