Howard Lifts Liberty Over Mystics, 77-65


On Thursday, the New York Liberty (6-9) defeated the Washington Mystics (10-7), 77-65, in the second game of their 2022 three-game season series.

At Barclays Center, the Liberty finished on 44.9% (31-69) shooting from the field, 19.4% (6-31) from three, and 69.2% (9-13) at the free throw line.

Highlighted by her 12-point first quarter, Natasha Howard finished with a season-high 27 points on 76.5% (13-17) shooting from the floor, a team-high nine rebounds, a block, and a steal.

Han Xu totaled 12 points on 85.7% (6-7) shooting from the field. She also added a rebound and a steal.

Sabrina Ionescu flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 10 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and a career-high-tying four steals.

 For Washington, Natasha Cloud finished with a team-high 17 points, seven assists, and five rebounds.
