Former Texas Longhorn Joyner Holmes was selected by the Seattle Storm as the 19th overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft. After being waived by the Storm on May 26, she signed as a free agent to the New York Liberty roster on June 26.
Holmes averaged 2.9 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10.0 minutes per game. She tied the Liberty single-game rookie rebound record on September 5 when she grabbed 13 boards against Phoenix. Holmes also recorded 13 points in the contest, which is the first 13/13 game by a Liberty rookie and marks the 30th time any player, rookie or veteran, has recorded 13 and 13 off the bench in WNBA history.
