The Liberty caught up with each of its 2015 Draft selections just days after hearing their names called. Up next, Meet Kiah Stokes.
Q: Did you always want to play in the WNBA?
Kiah Stokes: “Yep, I always knew from an early age that I wanted to play in WNBA.”
Q: What are some of your game day rituals, if any?
Stokes: “I used to listen to the same playlist, but now I usually just make sure I take about a half hour to nap or just relax and clear my mind.”
Q: Who has been your biggest influence in your life?
Stokes: “My biggest influences would have to be my parents. They have always been my biggest supporters and they have taught me so many things.
“My father has done all the things that I want to do (play professional basketball in the NBA and overseas) so I know I can always turn to him if I need something. He pushes me to get better every day.
“My mother has always been there for me, and she’s a great role model. She has been successful in almost everything she has done, and she pushes me to do the same.”
Q: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Stokes: “I have a lot of pet peeves (slow drivers and walkers, people stepping on my heels, being late) but my biggest pet peeve would have to be when people interrupt me when I’m talking. That’s probably the biggest one that really gets under my skin!”
