MSG Networks to Broadcast 31 Liberty Games in 2017

Once again in 2017 the Liberty will have every game broadcast either on MSG Networks or nationally on ESPN2

New York, NY (May 10, 2017) – MSG Networks (NYSE: MSGN) and the WNBA’s New York Liberty announced today the official telecast schedule for the 2017 season. MSG Networks will televise 31 of the team’s 34 regular season games.

The first MSG Networks’ Liberty telecast will be the season opener on Saturday, May 13 when the Liberty take on the San Antonio Stars at Madison Square Garden.

All Liberty games televised on MSG Networks will also be live streamed on MSG GO, MSG Networks’ live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers. MSG GO enables fans, whether at home or on-the-go, to watch all of MSG Networks’ live Liberty game telecasts. MSG GO is available to subscribers of participating television providers who receive MSG Networks as part of their television subscription.

“I am thrilled that, once again this season, the New York Liberty will be able to partner with MSG Networks to present every Liberty game to our dedicated fans in New York,” said Liberty Team President Isiah Thomas. “Expanding our local television coverage to ensure that fans can watch the Liberty every night we take the court continues to be a priority of our organization. MSG Networks is an incredible partner in providing comprehensive coverage of our remarkable players, along with increasing exposure for the game.”

“MSG Networks is proud to deliver fans exclusive coverage of the New York Liberty all summer long,” said Andrea Greenberg, president and CEO, MSG Networks. “We look forward to another exciting season as these world class athletes continue to inspire us to be our best and pursue our goals.”

Coming off a 2016 campaign where they posted the best record in the Eastern Conference, the Liberty tip off its 21st WNBA season in pursuit of the WNBA Championship. Leading the way is four-time All-Star and 2016 First Team All-WNBA selection Tina Charles, set to begin a fourth season with her hometown Liberty. Charles, who finished second in league MVP voting, won league titles for both scoring (21.5 PPG) and rebounding (9.9 RPG) in the 2016 season, becoming only the third player in league history to achieve this feat.

In addition to Tina Charles, the Liberty welcome back an impressive core of veterans that includes two-time WNBA All-Star Epiphanny Prince and 3-point specialist Sugar Rodgers. Ranking second in the league’s 3-point field goals made last year, Rodgers finished with 86 3-pointers during the 2016 campaign. New York also acquired center Kia Vaughn and guard Bria Hartley in a three-way trade with the Washington Mystics and Seattle Storm.

The 2015 WNBA Coach of the Year Bill Laimbeer returns for his fifth season on the sidelines, along with an impressive staff that includes Associate Head Coach Katie Smith, Assistant Coach Herb Williams, and Director of Player & Franchise Development Teresa Weatherspoon.

Below is the regular season television schedule for the New York Liberty on MSG Networks. 31 of the 34 games will air on MSG Networks, and an additional three games will air nationally on ESPN2.
