NEW YORK, NY – June 3, 2015 – New York Liberty Senior Vice President for Business and Basketball Operations Kristin Bernert and Head Coach Bill Laimbeer announced today that the team has waived guard Chelsea Hopkins.
In her second year out of San Diego State, Hopkins appeared in a pair of 2015 preseason games with the Liberty, averaging 1.5 points, 1.5 assists and 10 minutes per game. She scored three points in the preseason opener against Chicago, and had three assists and two steals against Atlanta last Wednesday at MSG.
Hopkins started her career with the San Antonio Stars, where she played four games during the 2013 season, averaging 1.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
