The Liberty will be taking the message of Breast Health Awareness to the streets, partnering with The American Italian Cancer Foundation to provide a Mobile Care Unit on Tuesday, August 11, from 1-8 p.m., located at 7th Avenue between 31st and 32nd streets. Displayed prominently near the Madison Square Garden marquee, the mobile care unit will provide no-cost mammogram testing and educational materials.

Participants will have the opportunity to win tickets courtesy of Delta to see the New York Liberty game that evening against the Chicago Sky. Liberty alumni Sue Wicks and Kym Hampton, in addition to team mascot Maddie, will make appearances throughout the day.

During the game, The Liberty and Delta will conduct an on-court presentation to recognize the strength and perseverance of breast cancer survivors, which include Liberty season ticket holders and Delta employees.

“As an original franchise, we hope that our commitment to breast health awareness over the years has made an impact on our fans,” said New York Liberty Senior Vice President for Business and Basketball Operations Kristin Bernert. “Delta has been an incredible partner in this, and we are excited to take their activation to another level this year.”

“Breast cancer awareness is a cause that is important to the Delta family, as unfortunately, it is a disease that touches both our employees and our customers,” said Gail Grimmett, Delta’s senior vice president – New York. “Since 2005, Delta’s employees, customers and their friends and families have raised $9.2 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, with more than $1.3 million raised last year alone. Delta’s contributions have funded the vital work of 31 different research projects over the years in the pursuit of eradicating breast cancer. We’re proud to partner with the Liberty to continue the fight.”

To help raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), there will be two auctions conducted the day of the game. The first auction will take place before the game at the Third Annual “Pink Ribbon” reception in the Delta Club, which is open to season ticket holders and those that make a $10 donation with the purchase of a game ticket via Ticketmaster. Featuring a professional auctioneer, this exciting event will offer exclusive fan experiences, including a Delta Road Trip to see the Liberty’s 2015 season finale against the Indiana Fever in Indianapolis, Ind., with Director of Player Development Teresa Weatherspoon.

Additionally, a silent auction will be held on the concourse outside of Section 101 from building open, through the end of the third quarter. Signed memorabilia such as sneakers and uniforms, and custom New York Liberty player baskets, are just some of the items fans will have the chance to win.
