Liberty International Update 1-17

It seemed like Liberty players were trying to one-up each other across Europe this week as the Libs stars put up monster numbers across the board. Together, the Liberty players abroad went 7-1 overall, in many cases helping their teams stay on a roll.

In Turkey, Kiah Stokes and Shavonte Zellous guided Besiktas to yet another win, edging Samsun 78-73. Zellous, who has been on an offensive tear as of late, did not cool off, finishing with a game-high 23 points, while Stokes posted yet another double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Tanisha Wright and Abdullah Gul also picked up a win, beating Istanbul University 77-66, while Wright scored 23 points, with 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Amanda Zahui B helped Orenburg to a pair of wins, one each in Euroleague and the Russian Premier League. Her 16 point, 9 rebound performance in a win over Hatay in Euroleague group play stood out, while Prince and Dynamo Kursk also racked up wins in both leagues.

Basket 90 Gdynia lost in Poland, but Carolyn Swords still dominated. She scored 28 points on 8-of-14 shooting.

It is a big week coming up as EuroCup playoffs tip off, which means Rebecca Allen and Wright have huge matchups looming mid-week. The game of the week will be on Sunday, when Zahui B and Prince go face-to-face as Orenburg battles Dynamo Kursk in Russia.
