NEW YORK, NY – JUNE 15, 2016 – The New York Liberty will host its 20th WNBA Season Celebration presented by Coca-Cola, highlighted by a reunion of the inaugural 1997 Liberty team, when it faces the Phoenix Mercury at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, June 26, at 3 p.m.
Coca-Cola, the Liberty’s longest standing partner for all 20 seasons of WNBA basketball, will present the game which also features fan giveaways, concessions specials, and a halftime performance by DJ KOOL.
“Our 20th Season Celebration will be an exciting evening for our fans, players, and the members of the 1997 New York Liberty team – the pioneers who paved the way for professional women’s basketball in New York City and across the country,” said Team President Isiah Thomas. “We are extremely grateful to Coca-Cola, who has supported the Liberty for all 20 years of its history, for presenting the evening, and helping us honor our legacy, while creating an extraordinary memory for our fans and supporters.”
Members of the Liberty’s 1997 team will be in attendance and recognized on the floor at The Garden before New York tips off against Phoenix, the same team they faced in the first-ever WNBA game played at Madison Square Garden on June 29, 1997.

The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Liberty 20th Season Poster, and the concessions stands will feature half priced Coca-Cola fountain drinks and hot dogs.
For the 20th season celebration, the Liberty is offering a special Legacy Ticket Package, creating an opportunity to honor the past while helping ensure the legacy of the team’s future.
