International Update Nov. 23

As we head into the Thanksgiving break here in the United States, there are some Liberty players who have already been enjoying a break from international action that started last week and extends into the weekend, but most will see their seasons ramp back up starting next weekend.

For Liberty fans, the biggest event of the week took place in Sydney as Rebecca Allen with SEQ and Carolyn Swords with Sydney Uni Flames went head-to-head for the first time. The two teams are both in the top half of the WNBL table and faced off with a chance to make a move up the standings. Swords and the Uni Flames won the game and created some separation with SEQ.

The biggest game between the Top Four teams took place in Sydney where the Uni Flames hosted SEQ. The Uni Flames controlled the game from the beginning and continued with their lead in each quarter. Carolyn Swords and her team completely out-rebounded SEQ 38-27 and the team was completely unselfish with a combined 21 assists. There were four players that scored in double figures and Carolyn was one of them. She contributed 14 points (6-6 FG, 2-2 FT) and six rebounds to help her team to the victory.  The Uni Flames keep a position of league leader, which they share with Perth. They are on a four-game winning streak and face Dandenong in the next round.
