Another week in the books for our players overseas! This week we have seen some teams lose in the Semi-Finals while others have gained momentum heading into playoff action.
Tina Charles received the Player of the Week award on Asia-basket.com for round 10. Charles broke out with 42 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead her team to victory and helped improve their record to 9-1. Charles’ shooting percentage was 66.7% from 2-point range, she among the league’s leader in points (2nd: 26.9 ppg), rebounds (3rd: 11.2 rpg) and averages a solid 53.3% field goal percentage. Xinjiang is in first place in the Group B WCBA Standings.
Kiah Stokes exploded with a one double-double and two games in double figures as she helped her squad snap a losing streak. Samsung upset the league leader Hanabank to help them move up in the WKBL standings.

Essence was explosive in her 5th game with Canik Belediyesi, she had 18 points, and 3 rebounds in 35 minutes of play. The team was able to gain a win this week

Dynamo K. are still fighting for a higher standing in the Euroleague as they are currently in 4th place. Prince contributed 5 points and 2 assists but that was not enough to get the victory. Prince did not play in the recent Premier League game.

SUGAR RODGERS #30- Atenienses de Manati

Sugar Rodgers and the Manati team lost in the Semi-Finals to Mayaguez, dropping the best-of-five series in five games. Manati lost the final two games of the series after Rodgers suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the game three win. She was able to contribute 17 points and 11 rebounds in the win on November 10th.

CAROLYN SWORDS – Sydney Uni Flames

Swords has continued to have her presence felt in the paint with the Sydney Uni Flames, she dished 3 assists while having 8 points herself. The Sydney Uni Flames kept their position of league leader, which they share with Perth and SEQ. They will face the league’s second-placed SEQ (Rebecca Allen) in the next round and that will be the game of the week, as the Liberty teammates face off.

Talk about a stat stuffer! Tina Charles led her team to a victory this past week where she received a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 10. This win allowed Xinjiang to consolidate first place in the Chinese WCBA. Xinjiang has had a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. Charles shot a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. Charles is among the league leaders in points (2nd: 26.9 ppg), rebounds (3rd: 11.2 rpg) and averages solid 53.3% FGP. Xinjiang is in first place in the Group B WCBA Standings

Rebecca Allen #9- SEQ

Rebecca Allen kept her numbers consistent this week as she is getting back into the swing of things. SEQ maintains their position at the top of the table with a 6-2 record, which they share with Perth and Sydney. They will meet with Sydney Uni Flames next week where Liberty teammate Carolyn Swords and a healthy Allen will face off.

Stokes and Samsung are on a three game winning streak and Kiah Stokes has a lot to do with that. She scored in double-figures on November 9th and 12th. November 12th, they crushed the league leader Hanabank 80-56, Stokes had 5 blocks in the paint with 17 points. She has been able to be a strong presence in the paint for the team as they are fighting to move up in standings. Currently they are in second place but the next round of games can help them move up.

Avery Warley-Talbert #23- Botas

Botas were not able to pull out a win this week so they have dropped down to 13th in KBSL standings. However, on November 14th Avery Warley-Talbert pulled out a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds against Mersin. That was not enough for them to gain the victory and snap the losing streak so they will try again on November 28th.
