International Competition Underway for a Number of Liberty Stars

International competition has already begun for a handful of Liberty stars competing in Europe this winter with the French, Russian, and Czech Leagues tipping off over the last week. By the end of the week, the Turkish regular season will commence, which will see three more Liberty players in action (Kia Vaugh, Kiah Stokes, Bria Hartley), and Tina Charles will open play in China next month.

Finding wins early on, Rebecca Allen and Amanda Zahui B are off to strong starts, Allen with Lyon in France and Zahui B with USK Praha in the Czech Republic. For Zahui B, her squad regularly dominates the Czech regular season, and they will have their sites on the start of EuroLeague group play later this month.

Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe had one of the best statistical early performances, posted 14 points and 10 rebounds for Nantes in their French season debut, but they were unable to get past Nice.

In the week ahead, Allen and Raincock-Ekunwe will meet up for the 1st time, as Lyon battles Nantes on Oct. 7.
