AMANADA ZAHUI B SEASON RECAP

Zahui B’s first big offensive stretch of the season came during a difficult pair of road games at Connecticut and Dallas in mid June. The Liberty fell just short of a win against the Sun, but she finished with 6 points, and followed that up with one of her best performances of the season in a comeback overtime win against the Wings.

New York trailed by double figures in the 2nd half at Dallas, but staged a big comeback, thanks in large part to Zahui B, who unleashed her mid-range step-back jumper, which at 6-5 is nearly unguardable. She converted three attempts to finish with 7 points and a +5 rating in 12 minutes of action.

After the game, Bill Laimbeer and Liberty teammates praised Zahui B’s poise for stepping in so readily in a high pressure situation.

Later in the season, she scored 8 points on 4-of-7 shooting in a win over the Chicago Sky at The Garden, as the Liberty ran a winning streak to 8 in a row.

After the season, Zahui B said she was determined to work during the European season on both ends of the court so that her impact could increase even more once she returns to New York for the 2018 season.
