Liberty Fall to Sun



The New York Liberty (3-8) lost to the Connecticut Sun (6-6) on the road 76-72 on Sunday afternoon at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Liberty dropped back-to-back games to the Sun, falling to 1-2 against Connecticut this season.

Guard Cappie Pondexter had the high score for the Liberty with 21 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Also in double figures was Tina Charles with 15 points and Avery Warley-Talbert with a career-high 11 points. Warley-Talbert also grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Liberty. Veteran forward Plenette Pierson did not play against the Sun due to a right knee injury.

New York will continue its three-game road trip, taking on the Chicago Sky on Wednesday, June 18 at 11:30 a.m.
