Hammon and Liberty to be Featured on "Wednesdays Child"

November 7, 2006 - New York, NY - As our fans know, the Liberty has always tried to do well in our community. The team and players spend time out in the New York area, whether it's visiting hospitals, holding basketball clinics or stopping by schools. Recently the Liberty brought the community to our home, specificaly one 13 year-old girl named Tiffany. Through WNBC's "Wednesday's Child" program, Becky Hammon spent time with Tiffany, who is in foster care in New York, at the MSG Training Center. The two can be seen shooting around together when they are featured on Wednesday, November 8 on Channel 4 between 5:30 - 6:00 p.m.

Wednesday's Child is a weekly televised feature that helps recruit adoptive families who can provide permanent and loving homes for NYC foster children. Each week the segment features a new child that is eligible for adoption. On the newest edition airing this Wednesday, viewers will be introduced to Tiffany, who just happens to be a big basketball fan. The segment will show her recent outing at the Training Center with her own personal All-Star, Becky Hammon.

Fans should tune into NBC Channel 4 on Wednesday, November 8 between 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. It will also re-air on Sunday between 7:00 - 8:00 a.m., and will be available on wnbc.com beginning Thursday.
